The range of Vertilux green star products have been fully assessed by independent Australian organization ecospecifier and have achieved the highest rating possible within the ecospecifier criteria. The following products have been assessed and have earned the ecospecifier Enhanced Content Plus Green Stars (ECG) rating:
The Vertilux Trevira CS Fabrics (EuroBloc, Euroscreen, Chanell and Metalo) range of polyester window coverings is recognised as being very low VOC.
The Vertilux Trevira CS fabrics (EuroBloc, Euroscreen, Chanell and Metalo) range is:
Vertilux EuroBloc, Euroscreen, Metalo and Chanell Trevira CS fabrics are twice the weight of other Trevira CS fabrics in the marketplace, respectively. The benefit of this specifically constructed fabric property is that it hangs consistently flat and stable, compared to a lighter weighted fabric, essential for use on large window systems.
The construction of the Vertilux Trevira CS fabric, with its weight and density, gives it exceptional solar properties and makes it perfectly equipped for the purpose of roller blinds, panel glides and roman blind systems. A large range of colours in all of the Vertilux Trevira CS ranges achieves excellent solar properties for both metallised and non-metallised fabrics.
Energy efficiency: Trevira CS fabrics reduce heat and glare internally in summer and provide heat insulation in winter. This allows for a significant reduction in the need for air-conditioning, and reduces electricity consumption and greenhouse gases.
VOC emissions: This is a very low VOC product (below 0.5mg/m2). The product is 100% polyester with no use of PVC.
Green Star Criteria: A selection of fabrics within the Trevira CS range meets the Green Star requirements for daylight glare control (these must have a visual light transmittance (VLT) of less than 10%). Please contact your Vertilux sales representative for more information on these.
As there is no PVC used in the Trevira CS ranges, the fabrics meet any requirements for PVC minimisation in the design and fit-out of a building.
Trevira CS Fabrics can effectively contribute to the energy efficiency and improvements of a building.
Reusability: This product has been designed for disassembly with all components able to be stripped from the blind. The product is reusable and recyclable. Vertilux encourages the reuse of the fabrics for things such as car interior protectors and outdoor furniture covers.
The Eloquent Blockout and Zing Blockout fabric ranges are made from 100% polyester with acrylic backings.
Energy efficiency: The Eloquent Blockout and Zing Blockout fabric ranges effectively contribute to a reduction in heat and glare internally and assist in reducing the need for air conditioning. As a result these fabrics significantly reduce electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
VOC emissions: This is a low VOC product as it is 100% polyester with no use of PVC.
Green Star Criteria: All of the fabrics within the Eloquent Blockout and Zing Blockout ranges meet the Green Star requirements for daylight glare control. These requirements state the product must have a visual light transmittance (VLT) of less than 10%. All of the fabrics within these ranges have a 0% VLT.
As there is no PVC used in the Eloquent Blockout and Zing ranges, the fabrics meet any requirements for PVC minimisation in design and fit-out of a building.

Reducing energy consumption makes a significant impact on the environment. Exterior sunscreens are undoubtedly the most effective way of controlling sunlight. Sunscreens should not inhibit the advantages of glass — natural light, view and entry of solar energy in winter — but must avoid the creation of a greenhouse effect. The Heliogreen Exterior System controls the amount of sun radiation i.e. before it reaches the window pane. The result is no dazzling light and no accumulation of heat indoors. Buildings using Heliogreen sunscreens require less powerful air conditioning and the savings on costs, can be as much as 40% per year. Depending on the fabric choice up to 90% of the sun’s heat can be blocked by Heliogreen external screens.
The appearance of buildings, whether commercial or residential, is naturally important and with this in mind the Heliogreen range of external fabrics includes colours and finishes which compliment all architectural styles and façade finishes.
Under Green Star™(Office Interiors and Office Design) — IEQ Daylight Glare Control, this credit criteria specifies that fabrics used in blinds and screens must have a visual light transmittance (VLT) of less than 10%. Please note, only those fabrics highlighted in bold font in the above tables meet Green Star™criteria.
IEQ-4 Daylight Glare Control : If 100% of blinds or screens installed are Helioscreen – Heliogreen fabrics, and connected to a Building management system with manual override, use of these fabrics may contribute towards the possible achievement of 1 credit point. NOTE- Fabric must have a visual light transmittance of less than 10%.
IEQ-5 Daylight Glare Control : If 100% of blinds or screens installed are Helioscreen – Heliogreen fabrics, and connected to a Building management system with manual override, use of these fabrics may contribute towards the possible achievement of 1 credit point. NOTE- Fabric must have a visual light transmittance of less than 10%.
Ene-1 Energy Efficiency : If Helioscreen – Heliogreen internal polyester fabrics are installed in the base building. Use of these fabrics may contribute towards reduced energy consumption of the building if included in the building energy load modeling process.
Ene-2 Energy Improvements : If Helioscreen – Heliogreen
